Supervisor of Elementary Education (K-5) 

 

The Supervisor of Elementary Education (Grades K-5) is responsible for providing leadership, support, and direction for elementary education programs within the school district. This role involves collaborating with teachers, administrators, and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality instruction and the achievement of academic goals.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Work with curriculum specialists and educators to develop, revise, and align K-5 curriculum standards, resources, and instructional materials.
  2. Ensure that curriculum content meets state standards, district objectives, and the needs of diverse learners.
  3. Monitor the implementation of curriculum initiatives and provide guidance to ensure fidelity and effectiveness.
  4. Provide instructional leadership and support to K-5 teachers through coaching, professional development, and mentorship opportunities.
  5. Conduct classroom observations, provide constructive feedback, and model best practices in teaching and learning.
  6. Facilitate collaborative planning sessions and grade-level meetings to promote curriculum coherence and instructional alignment.
  7. Oversee the administration and analysis of K-5 assessments to evaluate student progress, inform instructional decision-making, and monitor achievement trends.
  8. Use assessment data to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement in student learning outcomes.
  9. Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement data-driven instructional interventions and enrichment opportunities
  10. Collaborate with district administrators to develop and manage budgets, allocate resources, and prioritize initiatives related to K-5 education.
  11. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to curriculum implementation, assessment data, and program evaluation.
  12. Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in elementary education to inform decision-making and program development.
  13. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in secondary education.
  14. Collaborate with parents, students, teachers, administrators, and community stakeholders to build positive relationships, foster open communication, and support student success.
  15. Attend meetings, committees, and forums to address concerns, solicit feedback, and promote collaboration on matters related to secondary education.
  16. Represent the district in professional organizations, conferences, and community events to advocate for the interests and needs of secondary students and educators.
  17. Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and support to teachers to improve their instructional methods, classroom environment, and student engagement.
  18. Collaborate with school administrators to develop performance goals, action plans, and strategies for teacher improvement and professional growth.
  19. Analyze student achievement data, assessment results, and other relevant metrics to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement within the secondary education program.
  20. Utilize data-driven decision-making processes to develop interventions, instructional supports, and academic initiatives that address the diverse needs of students.
  21. Monitor progress towards academic goals, benchmarks, and performance targets, and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
  22. Coordinate curriculum audits, program evaluations, and accreditation reviews to maintain high standards of educational excellence and accountability.
  23. Accepts other duties as may be assigned which are related to the scope of the job and outlined in their key performance indicators.

Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, curriculum and instruction or related field.
  2. Valid teaching certificate/license with elementary education endorsement.
  3. LDOE certification in Educational Leadership 1 or eligibility for certification.
  4. Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience in secondary education, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience preferred.
  5. Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, assessment practices, and educational technology tools.
  6. Ability to analyze data, make informed decisions, and implement evidence-based practices.
  7. Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing secondary education programs.

Reporting: Reports directly to Chief Academic Officer 

Salary: Supervisor Salary Schedule 

Term of Employment: 12 month
